Fatemeh Entezari
I am an economist specializing in development economics with a gender lens. I use rigorous applied econometrics to study how trade, protest, and institutional shocks reshape firm dynamics, gender norms, and social change. As both an active researcher and classroom instructor, I combine frontier empirical work with AI-augmented pedagogy to train the next generation of quantitative social scientists.

I am an economist specializing in development economics with a gender lens. I completed my Ph.D. in Economics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in summer 2026 and currently serve as a Lecturer in the School of Humanities and Social Science at HKUST, where I teach China Middle East (MGCS 6001D). I am both an active researcher and a classroom instructor, positioning myself for research-oriented academic roles while delivering high-impact teaching.
I have worked extensively with the Vietnam Household Living Standards Survey (VHLSS) and Vietnamese Enterprise data, cleaning and preparing these datasets for rigorous empirical analysis. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about working with these data.
Outside of research and teaching, I am a photographer. View my portfolio on 500px.
